Some of you might have noticed the phenomenal growth of the Commercial Classifieds folder over the last year or so. While this is good in that forummers now have an even wider choice, navigating through the folder is tedious at times.
In an effort to simplify the folder and to make the experience enjoyable again, VAGSG is embarking on an overhaul of this folder. With immediate effect, the Admin Team will create a number of sub-folders within the Commercial Classifieds folder : · Auto (new or used or for lease) · Auto Parts (engine/brakes/hardware etc) · Auto Services (software/polishing etc) · Auto Accessories (accessories + rest of auto items)st of auto items) · Auto workshops (workshops) · Non-Auto (all non-auto stuff) Site Advertisers - will no longer be able to post in the general Commercial Classifieds. The Admin Team will gradually move the posts to the new subfolders. Please use the new sub-folders for any new posts. If there are multiple items, please split them into several posts. As always, the Admin Team welcomes suggestions on how things can be further improved. Last edited by admin; 17-06-10 at 04:13 PM. Reason: Included workshops |

Hi Dr. C, In that case are you able just to add another section of "Auto Workshops" which include tunes, oil changes services and parts. Hardware and accesories dont mean much as one can be just a seller or automotive hardware and accessories without a workshop or goes through a third party workshop. Much appreciated if you could look into this matter and I am sure many will agree that it will streamline further with clearer distinctions. As usual, keep up the good work. Cheers! Regards ROBERT |

Subfolder for each commercial entity would be clearer for forumer to search for stuff. Commercial entity itself can decide how many threads to start. One for each product or one thread for all.
![]() Attempt to classify part/service would likely be difficult as some offers quite a few things while some item may be difficult to classify. Just my 2cts.

Thank you for the suggestion. This system has its merits as you both have pointed out but it is workable when numbers are small. The example quoted above has 25 Site Advertisers. To date VAGSG has 68 and rising. Do we restrict someone from being a Site Advertiser? Who do we choose? First come first served? Do we try to restrict by raising the fees? This is not our intent - VAGSG is not a commercial organisation out to get revenue. We purposely keep the fees low so that anyone who thinks they have an interesting product or service to offer our forummers is more than welcome. As you can see, no one size fits all but the present system was getting extremely unweildy - especially for the smaller outfits. This is an attempt at making it more organised much like the way the press does it. |
